Static caravans and lodges to buy as holiday homes at Seasalter, on the north Kent coast between Whitstable and Faversham.

Seasalter sits on the north Kent coast between Whitstable and Faversham, where the shoreline opens out towards the Isle of Sheppey. At low tide the sand and shingle seem to go on for miles, and the skies are big enough to watch the weather arrive.

The estate offers static caravans and lodges to buy as holiday homes. Everyday things are close at hand: there is a shop on the park, a café that welcomes dogs and wheelchair users with a decked terrace outside, and a modern launderette that takes card payments and sends a message to your phone when the wash has finished.

Getting about

Whitstable, with its harbour, oyster sheds and independent shops, is just along the coast, and the cathedral city of Canterbury is a short drive inland. Dover is around 45 minutes away by car for the ferries to Calais, and Folkestone around 55 minutes for the Channel Tunnel.

A little history

Salt was made along this shore from the Iron Age, and the Domesday Book of 1086 records that Seasalter belonged to the kitchen of the Archbishop of Canterbury. The marshes behind the sea wall have been grazed for centuries, while neighbouring Whitstable became famous for its oysters, a trade going back to Roman times.
